Gratitude Candle Spell

Items you’ll need:

  • A white or green candle (for blessings and abundance)
  • A small bowl of salt (for grounding and purity)
  • A small bowl of water (for cleansing and flow)
  • A small dish with herbs or flowers associated with gratitude (lavender, rose petals, rosemary, or bay leaves work well)
  • Paper and pen
  • Matches or lighter

Steps:

  1. Create Sacred Space: Find a quiet space where you feel comfortable and grounded. Set up your altar or a simple surface with the items you’ve gathered. Cast your circle or ground yourself as you typically do in your practice.

  2. Light the Candle: As you light the candle, say: "By flame and light, I honor the blessings in my life, seen and unseen."

  3. Center with the Elements: Place your hands over the bowl of salt and then over the bowl of water, acknowledging the earth and water's grounding and purifying presence. Let their energies remind you to be rooted and open to the flow of blessings.

  4. Gratitude Affirmation: Hold the herbs or flowers in your hands, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Reflect on all the things you're grateful for—big or small. Visualize these blessings multiplying in your life. Then say: "A witch’s heart overflows with gratitude, for she knows that in giving thanks, she invites more blessings and magic into her life."

  5. Write Down Your Gratitude: On the paper, write down what you are thankful for right now. It can be a single blessing or several. When finished, fold the paper three times toward you, sealing your intention to attract more blessings.

  6. Release the Gratitude: Place the folded paper under the candle, allowing the energy of your gratitude to rise with the candle’s flame. As you do, say: "With this offering of thanks, I open myself to receive abundance and magic in all its forms. As I give thanks, the universe returns its gifts tenfold."

  7. Close the Ritual: Spend a few moments in meditation or reflection. When ready, blow out the candle, but let the energy of your gratitude remain strong. You may choose to bury the herbs or flowers outside to return them to the earth with thanks and keep the paper in a special place.

  8. End with Gratitude: Close your circle or grounding, saying: "With a heart full of thanks, I end this spell, knowing that blessings are always near. So mote it be."

This spell channels the energy of gratitude and aligns with the natural flow of abundance in the universe. Keep your candle and gratitude list nearby as a reminder of the magic you’ve set in motion.

Blessed Be!
